Article: Inter-Unit Kite Design Competition

The Inter-unit Kite Design Competition was held on 22 June
2011 and organized by 9 NCDCC schools. It was held at Bowen
Secondary School. The objective of this event is to allow
us to display our creativity in designing a logo for NCDCC’s
Urban Adventure Challenge 2011 as well as designing based
on the theme, “My NCDCC”. There were 9 secondary
schools participating, namely, Admiralty, Bowen, Changkat
Changi, CHIJ Katong Convent, Christ Church, Evergreen, Kent
Ridge, Pioneer and St Patrick’s.

Article: 11th SNCO Course 2011

While the rest of the student population were busy enjoying
their much awaited June holidays with meet ups and getaways,
122 of us across different schools spent it in a different
manner, by taking part in the 11th SNCO Course from 6 to
10 June 2011. Fear and anxiety were amongst the many emotions
felt and I kept questioning how my fate would turn out to
be in this span of five days. For I predicted that this
course would be no easy feat, and that turned out to be
a reality.

Article: Rescue Equipment Course 2011

We had the opportunity to experience things that we would
not normally experience during CCA sessions in school during
the Rescue Equipment Course conducted by HQ NCDCC through
SCDF. During the course, we learnt about the different types
of equipments that the Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team
(DART) from the SCDF use in their many missions and operations.
