1. What do the initials CLT stand for?

CLT is an acronym for 'Cadet Lieutenant'.

2. What are the criteria required of me to become a CLT?

You have to be a student enrolled in any Singapore Junior College / Polytechnic / *Others. Selected candidates will undergo a 2-week Cadet Lieutenant Course.*Students from any recognized local post-secondary institutions may apply, subjected to approval by Commandant NCDCC.

3. What are the main courses available to me when I become a CLT?

› Cadet Lieutenant Course.
› Civil Defence Heritage Gallery (CDHG) guide course.
› Fire-Fighting Course.

4. What would my job scope be like as a CLT?

After having attended the 2-week Cadet Lieutenant Course, you will be attached to HQ NCDCC from which you will be deployed to a NCDCC Unit (School)* nearest to your residence, whenever possible. You will be assisting the Officer Commanding (OC) and the teacher officer(s) of the Unit in the conduct of NCDCC training and activities.

5. What would be my route of advancement as a CLT?

You will be appointed the rank Probationary Cadet Lieutenant (P/CLT) upon successful completion of the 2-week Cadet Lieutenant Course. Based on your commitment and performance over the next 6 months, you will be considered for confirmation to the rank of Cadet Lieutenant (CLT). After which, 6 months later you will be considered for promotion to the rank of (S/CLT).
